The adjustment. Precise, and aimed at the joint that needs it.

A controlled force to a specific joint that has lost normal motion. Assessment-led, sport-aware, and one part of a full treatment visit. In Buford, GA.

A chiropractic adjustment applies a precise, controlled force to a specific joint that is not moving well. Restoring motion to that segment reduces pain and lets the surrounding muscles relax. The result a patient feels is simple: the area moves freely again.

What makes the difference is the work before the adjustment. Dr. Joe finds the joint that actually needs it rather than adjusting the same spots on every patient, matches the technique to your case, and pairs the adjustment with soft-tissue work and rehab in the same visit.

Where it helps

When an adjustment is the right tool.

An adjustment restores joint motion. It is not the answer to every problem, and we will tell you when something else should come first.

/01 Spine

Restricted spinal joints

When a segment of the spine stops moving the way it should, the joints above and below take the extra load. Restoring that one segment often settles the whole area.

/02 Neck

Neck stiffness and limited rotation

The stiff neck that will not turn fully to check a blind spot. Common in desk workers across Gwinnett and in anyone who sleeps wrong. Adjustment restores the rotation.

/03 Back

Mid and low back restriction

The catch in the mid back on a deep breath, the low back that locks up after a long drive or a day in the yard. Targeted adjustment frees the segment that is stuck.

/04 Athletes

Mobility for sport

A rotation-limited mid back robs a golf swing or a pickleball serve of range. Restoring joint motion gives the athlete back the positions their sport demands.

/05 Recovery

Part of an injury plan

After an injury, joints near the painful area often guard and stiffen. Adjustment is paired with soft-tissue work and rehab so the whole region recovers, not just the symptom.

/06 Maintenance

Keeping motion once it returns

Some patients choose periodic visits once they are well, to keep a recurring area in check. Others do not need it. We are honest about which group you are in.

How a visit runs

Assess first. Then adjust.

/01 Assess

We screen your history and examine how each segment moves. The adjustment is aimed at the joint that is genuinely restricted, not applied by routine.

/02 Adjust

A quick, controlled force restores motion to the segment. The technique is matched to you. If you are in spasm, a gentler approach is used until the area calms.

/03 Reassess

We recheck the motion and pair the adjustment with soft-tissue work and the rehab that keeps the change in place after you leave.

FAQ

Questions we hear.

What is a chiropractic adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is a precise, controlled force applied to a specific joint that has lost normal motion. Restoring movement to that segment reduces pain and lets the surrounding muscles relax. At Georgia Spine and Sports Rehab in Buford, the adjustment is assessment-led. Dr. Joe finds the joint that actually needs it rather than adjusting the same areas on every patient.

Does an adjustment hurt?

For most patients an adjustment is not painful. It is quick and often brings immediate relief in a stiff area. If you are in acute spasm or guarding, a gentler technique is used until the area calms down. Mild soreness afterward, similar to after a workout, is common for a day.

Is chiropractic adjustment safe?

For appropriate cases, adjustment is a low-risk procedure. The safety comes from the evaluation first. Dr. Joe screens your history and examination before adjusting, matches the technique to your case, and refers out or images further when the picture calls for it. He spent 13 NFL seasons and is the current Atlanta Dream team chiropractor, where the screening standard is high.

What is the popping sound?

The sound is a release of gas from the fluid inside the joint as it moves, called a cavitation. It is not bones cracking, and it is not a measure of how well the adjustment worked. A productive adjustment can happen with or without a sound.

How often will I need adjustments?

That depends on the case. An acute problem may need a short, more frequent course while it settles, then taper. Some patients choose periodic maintenance once they are well, others do not need it. We build a plan around your case and your goals, and we do not lock you into open-ended visits.

How much does it cost without insurance?

We are cash-pay. The adjustment is part of a treatment visit rather than a separate line item. Call (770) 614-6551 for current visit pricing. We accept HSA, FSA, all major credit cards, and cash, and every visit comes with an itemized superbill you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Pricing details →
